USDT Interest Rates in Singapore (2026): Where You Can Earn

Singapore's rule is simpler than anywhere else: a platform licensed by MAS may not let a retail customer lend or stake their crypto. So OKX and Gemini, which serve Singapore through local companies, open their earn and staking products to accredited investors only — they are not in the table. Many offshore exchanges — Bybit, Bitget, Gate, KuCoin, MEXC, HTX — exclude Singapore in their own terms. The rest of the table is foreign venues whose own terms do not exclude Singapore, and the highest rates here are theirs.

💬 Context: money in Singapore

Digital payment token services in Singapore are regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) under the Payment Services Act. Since October 4, 2024 its Guidelines PS-G03 have said that a provider "should not entice a retail customer" to lend or stake their assets, nor carry out such transactions on their behalf. For accredited investors it is allowed, after written risk disclosure and the customer's acknowledgment. That explains what you see on the platforms: Gemini states that staking in Singapore requires accredited investor status, and OKX Singapore's earn page warns that every product on it is for accredited investors only.

Kraken is not licensed or regulated in Singapore and says DeFi Earn is not available here; its Opt-In Rewards are not closed. That is the common case for venues in the table: they offer Singapore residents what MAS licensees may not, and you do not get the Singapore regulator's protection there. You can check whether a company holds a licence in MAS's Financial Institutions Directory.

Getting started

How to start, step by step

01
Do not look for earn products at locally licensed platforms unless you are an accredited investor. PS-G03 bars them from offering lending and staking to retail customers — which is why OKX and Gemini are not in this table.
02
Check the licence in MAS's Financial Institutions Directory. A MAS licensee may not offer lending or staking to retail customers, so on the venues in this table it is not the rules MAS set for licensees that protect you.
03
Do not treat Kraken like a local platform. It serves Singapore without a MAS licence; its DeFi Earn is closed here, and the rates in the table come through Opt-In Rewards.
04
Read the base rate, not the shop window. We publish base rates and never promotional tiers: the figure you see here is the one paid with no conditions attached.
05
Keep your own records: the dates you bought and sold, the coin, the amount and its value in Singapore dollars. Whether a gain is taxed depends on whether the activity counts as trading or investment.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is it legal for Singapore residents to earn interest on crypto?
Holding crypto is legal. But MAS-licensed platforms may not let retail customers lend or stake their assets — only accredited investors. The venues in the table offer these products outside that regime.
Is my crypto insured by SDIC?
No. SDIC insures only Singapore-dollar deposits with its member banks and finance companies.
Why are OKX and Gemini not here?
Because in Singapore their earn and staking products are open to accredited investors only — that is how they comply with MAS's PS-G03. Bybit, Bitget, Gate, KuCoin, MEXC and HTX exclude Singapore entirely in their own terms.
Is crypto income taxed in Singapore?
Buying a token and unrealised gains are not taxed. A gain on disposal is taxed if the activity is trading. IRAS's guide does not address staking or earn interest specifically.
