Incidents we count
Known incidents
1- September 2023 Hot-wallet hack via compromised private keys. Early estimates put it near $55M; CoinEx later stated roughly $70M itself, calling it "a small portion" of its assets. The Lazarus Group link comes from blockchain investigators, not from CoinEx. Withdrawals were paused and CoinEx publicly promised affected users 100% compensation. Stated plainly: we could not confirm that the compensation was actually paid in full — it is a promise, not a verified outcome. CoinEx's own announcements are closed to us; the exchange geo-blocks our region and redirects to a login form. Source →
