What is USDE
Ethena USDe is a synthetic dollar, not a fiat-backed stablecoin. Ethena holds crypto collateral such as staked ETH and BTC and shorts perpetual futures against it, which keeps the position close to $1. The yield comes from staking rewards and futures funding rates, so it falls when funding turns negative.
