  • ✗

    Regulation

No licence from a financial regulator to hold client funds. Poloniex's user agreement (revised 1 April 2026) is governed by the laws of Panama and shuts out the US, the UK, every EU country and Singapore. Regulators have acted against it more than once — in August 2021 Poloniex LLC settled SEC charges of running an unregistered securities exchange ($10.4 million), in 2021 the Ontario Securities Commission brought allegations against Polo Digital Assets, Ltd. for operating without registration, and in May 2023 Poloniex LLC paid $7.59 million to settle US sanctions violations. Proof-of-Reserves

Poloniex publishes a monthly Merkle-tree proof of reserves with a per-coin breakdown and a tool to verify your own balance. The 1 October 2026 snapshot shows a total reserve ratio of 100.48% (BTC 100.10%, ETH 100.59%, USDT 100.32%). The report is self-published; no auditor is named. Source →

    Flexible withdrawal

Earn's flexible products can be redeemed at any time; Fast Redemption credits the spot account immediately. Source 1 → Source 2 →

  • ✗

    Insurance Fund

No protection fund covering hacks or losses of client funds is described on Poloniex's own pages. A $100 million "User Protection Fund" was reported in April 2026, but neither its wallet nor the conditions under which it pays out have been published, so we do not count it. Source →

    Track record (2+ years incident-free)

Operating since 2014. On 10 November 2023 hackers drained Poloniex's hot wallets; PeckShield estimated the loss at around $125 million, and Poloniex said it would fully reimburse users. An earlier breach in March 2014 took 12.3% of its bitcoin. Since November 2023 — almost three years — we found no hack, withdrawal freeze or loss of client funds, so it passes our two-year rule. The regulators' settlements are counted under regulation. Source 1 → Source 2 → Source 3 →

How it works

How ATOM earns on Poloniex

When you deposit ATOM into Poloniex's earn product you receive 6.0 % APY as a Earn rate. The platform puts the asset to work and shares the yield — your balance grows without you doing anything.

This is a base rate, not a promotional teaser: it's what an ordinary deposit actually earns. Poloniex carries a YieldScope safety grade of C, so weigh the yield against platform risk — a higher rate on a weaker grade is not automatically a better deal.

Rates on ATOM move with lending demand and market conditions. We re-check them daily and keep a history, so you can see whether today's number is unusually high, unusually low, or steady.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the ATOM earn rate on Poloniex?
Poloniex currently pays 6.0 % APY on ATOM as a Earn rate. Rates float and are refreshed daily on YieldScope — see the date stamp above for the last update.
Is earning ATOM on Poloniex safe?
Poloniex has a YieldScope safety grade of C, based on five binary criteria: regulation, proof of reserves, flexible withdrawal, insurance fund and incident track record. A higher grade means lower platform risk — but no yield is risk-free, and this is not financial advice.
Is there a lock-up for ATOM on Poloniex?
This ATOM rate requires a lock-up (Earn). Your funds are committed for the term, so factor that in before depositing.
How is the ATOM yield generated?
Earn products pay you because the platform puts your ATOM to work — typically lending it to borrowers or deploying it in market-making — and passes part of the return back to you. That's also why yield carries risk: it isn't free money, and it depends on the platform staying solvent.
